danze popolari/folk dances

One of the reasons why I like so much the folk dances is the atmosphere of the dancing events: last night I went with a friend of mine a long way from home, in spite of the iced and snowy roads. After an over an hour long drive, we finally reached our destination, slightly late.
As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by everybody with joy, they were waiting for us to start the concert, since we were coming from such a long way.
Then it all started, and the singer of the band remarked how nice it was to see the smiling faces of the dancers.
Now, I might be over estimating it, but these are the things that opens my heart, it feels so good for once to feel people's warmth, spending an evening light-heartedly, having fun with good, simple, not self-conceited people.
